Our history
In 2018, Ahlame Douzal, a lecturer with more than 20 years of AI research, run a project for a major hospital in France, designing several AI models to predict the aggressiveness of prostate cancer.
Although the deep learning model performed significantly better than the other methods, clinicians preferred to fall back on less powerful methods, because the decisions of the deep model remained obscure and unexplained.
For Ahlame and her team, this experiment was the starting point for a new challenge aimed at designing deep models that are at once high-performance, low-complexity and explainable by explanations that are intelligible to humans, whether or not they are experts in AI.
Fast forward to 2023, and Xpdeep is introducing to the market the first self-explainable deep learning framework and its super powerful visualization module that provide like an X-ray vision of the inside of the AI black box.
